9.3 Low-relaxation Prestressed Steel strands are important materials for the construction of prestressed concrete structures. They are made from high-carbon steel wire rods through cold drawing, twisting and stress relaxation stabilization treatment. Commonly, they are composed of 7 steel wires twisted together, with a diameter of 9.3mm. The product has significant advantages. Its low relaxation feature results in less prestress loss under long-term loading; its tensile strength is as high as 1860MPa, which can significantly enhance the load-bearing capacity of the structure; its good flexibility facilitates construction operations, and its corrosion resistance can be enhanced through processes such as galvanization. This type of steel strand is widely used in bridge, high-rise building, water conservancy and hydropower projects, etc. Generally, it is packaged in coils, which is convenient for transportation and storage.
